Landscape Designer Maria von Brincken to Give Design Workshop at Wayland Garden Club February 11th

SUDBURY, MA-Award winning and internationally published landscape designer Maria von Brincken will lead a design workshop at the Wayland Garden Club on Thursday morning February 11th. Her workshop, "Create Winning Perennial Combinations Using Color and Texture Basics", teaches basic color theory and a flower sequencing technique to create waves of color. Participants will create their color palette and practice the technique. The color power point slide show gives beautiful examples for both the sunny and shady border from spring through fall. Color theory and texture are introduced as design tools so you can create your own beautiful and stunning plant combinations.

The Wayland Garden Club was organized in 1922. Its' mission statement is "to stimulate and to educate members in their knowledge and practice of conservation, horticulture and the artistic use of plant material throughout the community." Landscape Designer Maria von Brincken to speak to URI Master Gardeners Association and Blackstone Valley Gardeners

SUDBURY, MA—Award winning and internationally published landscape designer Maria von Brincken will speak to the University of Rhode Island Master Gardeners Association at 1pm on February 7 at URI. Her topic ,“Vertical Gardens: Plants that Flower Up and Around”, illustrates her knowledge of the historical use of vines, the structures that support them, and hardy vines and annuals for New England gardens..

Von Brincken will also debut her new lecture”An Ecological Garden Makers’ Roots and Design Work” to the Blackstone Valley Gardeners at 7pm in Sutton, MA. She apprenticed with Allan Chadwick, one of seven in the Ecology Hall of Fame, at the groundbreaking Student Garden Project at UCSC. She will discuss the principles that influenced her ecologically design approach to the ornamental landscape she designs for her clients and her own garden.

APLD New England Chapter Designer Showcase

SUDBURY, MASS., Oct. 27, 2008 - The landscape design work of Maria von Brincken, Maria von Brincken Landscape Garden Design was featured in the Association of Professional Landscape Designers (APLD) New England Chapter Designer Showcase. It was presented at the Landscape Institute, Arnold Arboretum, Cambridge, MA during the month of October 2008.

Designers from four states participated with a range of projects - residential, urban parks, urban institutions, and commercial. Entry gardens featured courtyards and drives, walks, steps, and landings, fencing and stone walls, planting plans and landscape lighting. Back gardens featured swimming pools, outdoor kitchens, waterfalls and pools, fountains, stone walls and terraces, sculpture, planting plans and landscape lighting.

Maria von Brincken contributed 10 landscape images of the Wayland Estate project for the power point presentation. In the gallery landscape plans depicted the projected design in a continuous slide presentation.

LANDSCAPE DESIGNER MARIA VON BRINCKEN TO SPEAK AT NEW ENGLAND FLOWER SHOW AND HORTICULTURE SYMPOSIUM IN CONNECTICUT

SUDBURY, MA - Award winning landscape designer Maria von Brincken will speak at the 2004 New England Flower Show at 2:30 p.m. on March 16. Her topic will be "Revival Style Dooryard Garden for Antique and Contemporary Homes."

The New England Flower Show showcases more than 1,500 varieties of plants and hundreds of vendors display their products from all over the region. Award-winning gardeners compete in a number of categories in addition to a program of workshops conducted by leading gardening experts including von Brincken.

Von Brincken will also be one of the featured speakers at the Horticulture Symposium 2004 on March 18 at the New Canaan Nature Center. Her topic, "Shade Gardening: Design Ideas, Choice Perennials and Combinations", illustrates her knowledge of native plants as well as her creative and innovative ideas on combining flowers, trees and shrubs for the landscape.

The mission of the New Canaan Nature Center, an environmental education center and sanctuary, is to help people of all ages understand, appreciate and care for the world of nature. Located on a 40-acre site with unusual habitat diversity, including wet and dry meadows and woodlands, the organization recently opened a new visitor's center in addition to the 4000 square foot greenhouse and several other buildings on the property. The New Canaan Nature Center sponsors a vast array of activities and events, including the 2004 Horticulture Symposium "The Lure of the Garden - Its Artistry and Energy."
